As an app for Google Android, VoiceBrowser extends the pre-installed browser with speech input and output functionality, thereby surpassing Google's Voice Search by far. This is achieved by using both Google's speech recognition and SVOX' embedded speech recognizer. This hybrid approach combines the advantages of both worlds for navigating Web sites. SVOX' market-leading text-to-speech system has also been integrated as part of the VoiceBrowser.

Nikita - The virtual receptionist

In cooperation with the Institute for Animation, Visual Effects and Digital Postproduction at the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy, SemVox has developed an interactive conference guide which was presented for the first time at this year´s FMX. The video shows how visitors can interact with the virtual character and how the character is able to provide the visitor with information on the event. Technically, the system is based on SemVox talkingTerminal, the speech synthesis by SVOX and the agent framework of the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy. Thanks to the DirectSpeech technology by SemVox, the virtual character is constantly listening in and is therefore able to react on user input at any time, thus making it unnecessary to open the microphone manually. Such a system can be used in a variety of different application scenarios, ranging from innovative information and orientation systems for buildings and public places to interactive installations for knowledge transfer and product information.
